Due to its size, this project requires the use of a Cameo. I’ve included four panels which can be cut from vellum and adhered inside the lantern. See our lantern video tutorial for detailed instructions on assembling Quietfire lanterns at http://www.youtube.com/user/QuietfireDesign. Use this lantern as a centerpiece or cut a collection of them! Add a vellum panel and fill them with flameless votives or add a tiny plant or treat – do whatever your imagination dreams! Instructions: Open the file and ungroup the elements once. Remove the plain panels (which are your vellum panels) off to the side. Cut the lantern and remove from the cutting mat. Place face down and fold all the perforated score lines up towards you. If you wish to add vellum inserts, now is the time to cut them to adhere them to the inside of the lantern. Fold sides to create box, add adhesive to the tab and secure. At the bottom, fold the diagonal score lines on the irregular tabs outwards. Apply adhesive to those and adhere to the adjacent (regular shaped tab). Repeat the same with the two remaining tabs. By pushing your finger up at the bottom of the box, you will now be able to fold your box flat. When it is returned to lantern shape, the floor of the lantern will “lock”.
